Connor Martin is an up-and-coming motorsport engineer with a keen focus on automotive mechanics and high-performance motorsport. Currently studying for a Level 3 Diploma in Motorsport Vehicle Maintenance and Repair at Fareham College’s CEMAST, Connor is actively developing his skills in vehicle setup, event regulations, and complex diagnostics with Historic Automobiles, led by Simon Blake. With a strong curiosity for how each part contributes to a vehicle’s overall performance, Connor combines technical knowledge with a methodical approach to problem-solving.
Connor’s hands-on experience now spans multiple high-profile track days, where he has contributed to the preparation and tuning of iconic cars, including the Shelby Cobra 427, Mustang 429, and Jaguar E-Type. From addressing understeer in the Cobra at Goodwood to supporting drivers at Silverstone Festival, Connor’s practical work has exposed him to the fast-paced demands of real-world racing environments. His work includes gathering driver feedback, making precision adjustments to vehicle setups, and monitoring key metrics like tire wear and handling performance.
In addition to his growing track experience, Connor took on the independent repair of his former school’s electric car, successfully diagnosing and fixing mechanical and electrical faults with creative problem-solving and limited resources.
With a team-oriented mindset and a commitment to learning, Connor has proven himself as an adaptable young professional. His focus on clear communication and positive team dynamics helps him excel in the motorsport engineering field. As he looks toward future events like Goodwood Revival, Connor is driven by a genuine passion for motorsport and a dedication to elevating vehicle performance in competitive settings.
